If an individual dies with or without a valid Will, the Probate Court is involved unless a Revocable Living Trust was put in place. The probate process can take up to five years from start to completion and may include the Probate Court’s oversight. Inventory and a bond may also be required to be filed with the court by the estate Administrator or Executor. In other words, probate can be a complex and burdensome process often requiring legal guidance.
